An automatic door closer kit for a sliding door assembly comprising a doorway frame having first and second vertical jambs which are horizontally spaced and an upper horizontal lintel connecting across the two jambs and having two downwardly extending parallel rails, wherein the doorway frame defines a vertical plane. A stationary panel is mounted within the plane adjacent the second jamb. A movable door, having an upper end, a lower end, first and second vertical sides, with the first side adjacent the first jamb when the movable door is closed, is received within the rails of the lintel and is slidably mounted within the plane of the doorway. The door closer kit is gravity actuated and comprises a counterbalance having an adjustable weight capacity, an anchor pulley mechanism having a grooved pulley wheel thereon and mounted on the lintel and one of the rails, a traveling pulley mechanism having a grooved pulley wheel thereon and mounted on the upper edge of the second side of the movable door, and a lifting pulley mechanism having a grooved pulley wheel thereon and mounted on an upper portion of the stationary panel adjacent the second jamb. A cord, having one end thereof attached to the counterbalance, is entrained over the lifting pulley then about the anchor pulley and about the traveling pulley and the other end thereof is secured to a hook on the anchor pulley mechanism.
An automatic door closer kit for a sliding door assembly comprising a doorway having first and second vertical jambs, said jambs being horizontally spaced, an upper horizontal lintel connecting across said jambs and having two downwardly extending parallel rails, said doorway frame defining a vertical plane, a stationary panel mounted within said plane adjacent said second jamb, a movable rectangular door having an upper leaf, a lower leaf, first and second vertical stiles with said first stile being adjacent said first jamb when said movable door is in a closed position, the upper leaf of said movable door being received within said rails of said lintel so that said door is slidably mounted within said plane of said doorway frame;
