Abstract
Compounds having the formula ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; X and Y are independently halogen or methyl; and n is an integer from 1 to 3, are effective insect repellents.
Claims18
A compound having the formula ##STR5## in which R is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- X and Y are independently halogen or methyl;
- and n is an integer from 1 to 3.
A method of repelling insects from a locus to be protected therefrom, comprising applying to said locus an effective insect repelling amount of a compound having the formula ##STR6## in which R is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- X and Y are independently halogen or methyl;
- and n is an integer from 1 to 3.
An insect repellent composition comprising
- (a) an effective amount of a compound having the formula ##STR7## in which R is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- X and Y are independently halogen or methyl;
- and n is an integer from 1 to 3, effective to repel insects, and;
- (b) an inert diluent or carrier.
