Abstract
Imidomethyl blocked photographic reagents are useful in photographic elements, film units and processes. The blocked photographic reagents have the structure: ##STR1## wherein: J represents ##STR2## X represents the atoms to complete a 5- or 6-membered ring or ring system; R represents hydrogen, alkyl or 1 to 4 carbon atoms or aryl of 6 to 12 carbon atoms; and PR represents the residue of an organic photographic reagent containing a heteroatom through which it is joined to the imidomethyl blocking group.
Claims21
A photographic image transfer film unit comprising:
- (a) a photosensitive element comprising a support bearing a layer of a silver halide emulsion having associated therewith a dye-image-providing material, and
- (b) a dye image-receiving layer, the film unit containing an imidomethyl blocked photographic reagent having the structure:
- ##STR31## wherein:
- J represents ##STR32## X represents the atoms to complete a heterocyclic nucleus containing at least one 5- or 6-membered ring;
- R represents hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or aryl of 6 to 12 carbon atoms;
- and
- PR represents the residue of an organic photographic reagent containing a heteroatom through which it is joined to the imidomethyl blocking group and which, upon unblocking, is capable of reacting with another component of the film unit.
A photographic image transfer film unit comprising
- (a) a photosensitive element comprising a support having thereon a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion unit having associated therewith a cyan-dye-image-providing material, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion unit having associated therewith a magenta-dye-image-providing material and a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion unit having associated therewith a yellow-dye-image-providing material;
- and
- (b) a dye-image-receiving layer;
- the film unit containing an imidomethyl blocked photographic reagent having the structure:
- ##STR33## wherein:
- J represents ##STR34## X represents the atoms to complete a heterocyclic nucleus containing at least one 5- or 6-membered ring;
- R represents hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or aryl of 6 to 12 carbon atoms;
- and
- PR represents the residue of an organic photographic reagent containing a heteroatom through which it is joined to the imidomethyl blocking group and which, upon unblocking, is capable of reacting with another component of the film unit.
A photographic element comprising a support bearing a photosensitive silver halide emulsion having associated therewith an imidomethyl blocked photographic reagent having the structure:
- ##STR39## wherein:
- J represents ##STR40## X represents the atoms to complete a heterocyclic nucleus containing at least one 5- or 6-membered ring;
- R represents hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or aryl of 6 to 12 carbon atoms;
- and
- PR represents the residue of an organic photographic reagent containing a heteroatom through which it is joined to the imidomethyl blocking group and which, upon unblocking, is capable of reacting with another component of the element.
A photographic element comprising a support having thereon a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion unit having associated therewith a cyan-dye-image providing material, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion unit having associated therewith a magenta-dye-image-providing material and a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion unit having associated therewith a yellow-dye-image providing material, there being associated with at least one of the silver halide emulsion units an imidomethyl blocked photographic reagent having the structure:
- ##STR41## wherein:
- J represents ##STR42## X represents the atoms to complete a heterocyclic nucleus containing at least one 5- or 6-membered ring;
- R represents hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or aryl of 6 to 12 carbon atoms;
- and
- PR represents the residue of an organic photographic reagent containing a heteroatom through which it is joined to the imidomethyl blocking group and which, upon unblocking, is capable of reacting with another component of the element.
