Abstract
A coating composition containing as essential components (A) a prepolymer of epoxy resin and polyhydroxy phenolic compound selected from the group consisting of: (i) poly-nuclear polyhydroxy phenols having adjacent hydroxy groups, (ii) polyol esters of polyhydroxy phenolic carboxylic acids having adjacent hydroxy groups, (iii) a mixture thereof, and (B) an organic hardener for epoxy resins. This coating composition can be coated on rusty metal surfaces.
Claims8
A coating composition containing, as essential components,
- (A) a prepolymer of epoxy resin and polyhydroxy phenolic compound selected from the group consisting of
- (i) polynuclear polyhydroxy phenols having adjacent hydroxy groups,
- (ii) polyol esters of polyhydroxy phenolic carboxylic acids having adjacent hydroxy groups, and
- (iii) mixtures of (i) and (ii);
- and
- (B) an organic hardener for said epoxy resin.
