Abstract
A process for the treatment of aromatic polyamide fibers, which are suitable for use in construction materials and rubbers, as well as so treated fibers and shaped articles strengthened with these fibers.

Aromatic polyamide fiber treated by drawing polyamide fibers through at least one capillary entrance and outlet through a tube wherein a reduced pressure is maintained and wherein a plasma is generated by means of a high frequency field caused by a solenoid placed around said area.
