Abstract
Super active catalyst of high hydrocarbon conversion activity prepared by contacting crystalline zeolite materials of silica/alumina mole ratios greater than 7 and having a constraint index between 1/2 and 12 with steam followed by base exchange of the resultant steamed product with an ammonium salt.

A method for preparing a super active synthetic crystalline zeolite catalyst material of high hydrocarbon conversion activity having a constraint index between about 1/2 and 12 and a SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 mole ratio greater than 7 which comprises contacting the hydrogen form of zeolite ZSM-12, ZSM-20 or ZSM-23 with steam followed by base exchange of the resultant steamed product with an ammonium salt.
