Abstract
A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is described, comprising at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer, wherein at least one layer contains a compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents hydrogen, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclic group; R.sup.3 represents hydrogen or an aliphatic group, and X represents a divalent aromatic group. The light-sensitive material provides high-contrast negative images and good dot image quality.
Claims19
A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material comprising at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer consisting essentially of surface latent image-type silver halide grains, wherein at least one layer contains a compound represented by formula (I) in an amount sufficient to improve dot quality and contrast, ##STR9## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents hydrogen, an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group;
- R.sup.3 represents hydrogen or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group;
- and X represents a divalent aryl group.
A process for forming a photographic image which comprises developing the silver halide photographic light-sensitive material comprising at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer consisting essentially of surface latent image-type silver halide grains, wherein at least one layer contains a compound represented by formula (I) in an amount sufficient to improve dot quality and contrast, ##STR10## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents hydrogen, an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group;
- R.sup.3 represents hydrogen or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group;
- and
- X represents a divalent aryl group;
- by a developer containing a dihydroxybenzene.
