Abstract
A process for electrostatically spinning fiber forming material. The spun fiber is collected on a removable sheath on a rotating mandrel. The sheath is electroconductive. The tubular spun fiber product is separated from the sheath.
Claims13
A method of preparing a tubular product by electrostatically spinning a fibre-forming material and collecting the resulting spun fibres upon a former, the former comprising a core and a removable sheath thereon.
A method of preparing a tubular product which comprises the steps of applying a non-insulating sheath to a substantially cylindrical core to form the former, electrically charging the former, electrostatically spinning a fibre-forming material and collecting the fibres upon the sheath, removing the sheath and product from the core, and removing the sheath from within the lumen of the tubular product.
