Abstract
Vinylcyclopropane monomers and oligomers, obtained by the reaction of a diol or ether diol with 2-vinylcyclopropane-1,1-dicarboxylic acid or a lower alkyl ester thereof, are provided. These products are highly reactive and useful for the preparation of photocurable films, coatings and inks and in other related applications.

Vinylcyclopropane monomers and oligomers of the formula ##STR8## wherein R is a bivalent radical derived from a C.sub.2-12 aliphatic diol, C.sub.3-12 cycloaliphatic diol, C.sub.8-20 aromatic diol or ether diol having from 4 to 60 carbon atoms and 1 to 30 ether moieties, n is an integer from 1 to 20, X is hydroxy, alkoxy or the group --OROH where R is a bivalent radical as defined above and Y is hydrogen or the radical ##STR9## where R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group.
