Abstract
A process for preparing vitamins of the vitamin K.sub.1 and K.sub.2 series in their E-isomeric form through the reaction of a phenylcarbene metal complex with an enyne and intermediates in this synthesis.
Claims6
A process for the stereospecific preparation of a compound of the formula:
- ##STR13## wherein R.sup.1 is lower alkyl, acyl or benzyl;
- R.sup.2 is dimethylallyl, geranyl, farnesyl, phytyl or ##STR14## and m is an integer from 3 to 13 comprising reacting an enyne of the formula
- CH.sub.3 --C.tbd.C--R.sup.2
- with a metal complex of the formula ##STR15## wherein R.sup.1 is as above.
