Abstract
4H-3,1-Benzoxazine derivatives of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and Y have the meanings given in the specification, and their use for controlling unwanted plant growth in numerous crops, such as cereals, Indian corn, soybeans and cotton.

4H-3,1-Benzoxazine derivatives of the formula ##STR527## where Y is oxygen or sulfur, Ar(R.sup.6).sub.n, Ar denoting phenyl, R.sup.6 denoting haloalkoxy or haloalkylmercapto, each of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and n being 1 or 2.
2-(p-Trifluoromethoxy-phenyl)-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one.
2-(m-Trifluoromethoxy-phenyl)-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one.
2-(m-1',1',2',2'-Tetrafluoroethoxy-phenyl)-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one.
2-(m-chlorodifluoromethoxy-phenyl)-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one.
2-(m-trifluoromethylmercapto-phenyl)-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one.
