Novel fluorine-containing organosilane compounds

Abstract

The invention provides a novel class of organosilane compound represented by the general formula X--CF.sub.2 --CF.sub.2).sub.n CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --Si(OCOR.sup.2).sub.m (R.sup.1).sub.3-m' in which R.sup.1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 7 to 21 carbon atoms, X is a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom, n is a positive integer not exceeding 4 and m is a positive integer not exceeding 3. The fluoroalkyl-containing acyloxy silanes are useful as an additive ingredient in a synthetic resin composition for shaping articles or a coating composition with a synthetic resin as the vehicle when improved lubricity is desired on the surface of the shaped article or on the coated surface.
