Abstract
A molten metal matte low in iron is oxidized by blasting oxygen or air into the metal layer to produce raw metal.
Claims4
A process for the oxidation of molten low-iron metal matte beneath a layer of slag and above a bottom layer of molten metal comprising maintaining the thickness of the bottom layer of molten metal essentially constant while blasting oxygen-enriched air into the metal layer under said matte and separating raw metal from said metal layer to maintain said essentially constant bottom layer thickness.
