Abstract
Compounds of the general formula: ##STR1## in which alk and alk' represent the bivalent radicals aliphatic alkyl chains; and R and R' represents the alkyl, halogen, hydrogen, alkyloxy, --OH, --CF.sub.3 or --SCH.sub.3 radicals. The compounds of the formula I are, effective as antiglaucomic, antipsychotic and also as additive agents in the withdrawal treatment of various addictive conditions. Methods for their preparation are also disclosed.
Claims8
A method of treating symptoms of schizophrenia comprising, administering to a patient having symptoms of schizophrenia an amount of a compound of the formula I or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt which is sufficient to remove said symptoms from the patient, said formula I being:
- ##STR6## wherein "alk" is selected from the group consisting of linear and branched divalent aliphatic chains having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms;
- "alk'" is selected from the group consisting of linear and branched divalent aliphatic chains having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms;
- and each R and R' is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, halogen, alkyloxy having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, hydroxy, trifluormethyl and methylthio.
