1-Acylethoxyquin compounds and compositions for treating vitamin E-deficiency

A compound of the formula:

• ##STR11## in which A stands for one of the following groups ##STR12## B standing for a. (CHOR').sub.n R in which R' stands for H, lower carboxyacyl, or lower alkyl, R stands for CH.sub.2 OH, carboxyl, or carboxy lower alkyl, or COR'", R'" standing for the ethoxyquin group, and n stands for an integer of 2-6;
• b. (CHR"").sub.m NH.sub.3 X.sup.- in which R"" stands for H, or lower alkyl, X.sup.- stands for a non-toxic and physiologically acceptable salt forming anion, and m stands for an integer from 1-6;
• c. (CH.sub.2).sub.m NR.sub.1 R.sub.2 in which R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and m have the same meaning as above and R.sub.2 in addition can be Cb.sub.2 ;
• d. NR'.sub.1 R'.sub.2 in which R'.sub.1 and R'.sub.2 stands for hydrogen or lower alkyl;
• e. OR.sub.4 in which R.sub.4 stands for lower alkyl, or for ##STR13## in which E stands for ##STR14## R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 standing for H, CH.sub.2 OH, OH, CH.sub.2 O-lower alkyl, O-lower carboxy acyl, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 together standing for ##STR15## p stands for an integer of 1 or 2, and q stands for an integer of 0 or 1:
• ##STR16## in which E has the same meaning as above;
• or ##STR17## in which E has the same meaning as above, but R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 may also stand for COHN.sub.2.
