Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for removing an aldehyde from dispersions containing the aldehyde by introducing a gas into the dispersion.
Claims9
A process for removing an aldehyde from a liquid dispersion of microcapsules with use of an aldehyde to form the wall-forming film of the capsules characterized in that:
- the microcapsules are formed of a wall-forming film of an aldehyde polycondensation resin produced in the presence of an acid catalyst in a liquid,
- a gas is introduced into the liquid dispersion following complete formation of the microcapsules;
- the liquid dispersion has a protective colloid incorporated therein before the gas is introduced thereinto, and
- the liquid dispersion is heated to a temperature of at least 50.degree. C. before the gas is introduced thereinto.
