Abstract
This invention relates to a process for producing 2-alkoxyacrylate by heating an alkyl 2,2-dialkoxypropionate with a molar amount each of a heterocyclic amine and an organic carboxylic acid halide in the presence of a catalytic amount of an inorganic base.

Process for preparing alkyl 2-alkoxyacrylate which comprises heating a reaction mixture comprising alkyl 2,2-dialkoxypropionate with a molar amount each of a heterocyclic amine and an organic carboxylic acid halide in the presence of a catalytic amount of an inorganic base.
