Abstract
Disclosed are trans-2-substituted-amido-hexahydrobenzo[a]quinolizines represented by the formula: ##STR1## In the above formula, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently --H or --OCH.sub.3 or when taken together are ##STR2## R.sup.3 is --H or --CH.sub.3 and R.sup.4 is ##STR3## These compounds, and their pharmacologically acceptable, non-toxic, acid addition salts are useful as anti-hypertensive agents.
Claims7
A trans-2-amido-hexahydrobenzo[a]quinolizine represented by the formula:
- ##STR44## wherein R.sup.4 is ##STR45## or a pharmaceutically acceptable, non-toxic, acid addition salt thereof.
1,3,4,6,7,11b-hexahydro-9,10-dimethoxy-2(4-methoxybenzoylamino)-2H-benzo [ a]quinolizine hydrochloride.
2-(3,4-dichlorobenzoylami no)-1,3,4,6,7,11b-hexahydro-9,10-dimethoxy-2H-benzo[a]quinolizine hydrochloride.
2-(4-chlorob enzoylamino)-9,10-dimethoxy-1,3,4,6,7,11b-hexahydro-2H-benzo[a]quinolizine hydrochloride.
