Abstract
2-(Alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl or alkylsulfonyl)-4-[2-(anilinoalkylamino)-1-hydroxyalkyl]phenols and derivatives thereof, particularly useful as agents for the treatment of hypertension, are disclosed herein.

A compound of the formula ##STR15## wherein n is 1-4;
- m is 0-2;
- Z' is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- Y.sub.1 ' and Y.sub.2 ' are independently hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or amino;
- and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
