Abstract
Process comprising contacting and reacting a diarylmethanol having 13 to 25 carbon atoms and of the formula RCHOHR' wherein each of R and R' is aryl, the same or different, in the liquid state, at a temperature of about 130.degree.-260.degree. C., with gaseous oxygen to produce hydrogen peroxide and diaryl ketone of the formula RCOR' wherein R and R' are the same as above.
Claims10
Non-catalytic process for preparing hydrogen peroxide, which process comprises contacting and reacting a diarylmethanol having 13 to 25 carbon atoms and of the formula RCHOHR' wherein each of R and R' is aryl, the same or different, in the liquid state, at a temperature of about 130.degree.-260.degree. C., with a gas stream containing oxygen to produce hydrogen peroxide and diaryl ketone of the formula RCOR' wherein R and R' are the same as above, which hydrogen peroxide is carried out of the liquid by the gas stream.
