Abstract
A novel nonazeotropic mixture containing R-22 and either R-124 or R-152a. This mixture has an improved efficiency in cooling and heating applications. Also provided is a method for producing refrigeration and a method for producing heating using this mixture.

A nonazeotropic refrigerant composition comprising from about 99 to 1 wt. % of monochlorodifluoromethane, as a first component, and from about 1 to 99 wt. % of a polar fluorocarbon selected from the group consisting of 2-chloro-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and 1,1-difluoroethane, as a second component.
