Abstract
Decahydro or octahydro-4-phenyl-cis-isoquinoline derivatives are useful as analgesics, anti-depressants, tranquilizers and sleep inducers.
Claims24
A compound of the formula ##STR40## where R' represents OR.sub.1 wherein
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkanoyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and
- R" is hydrogen, and
- R.sub.2 is alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a radical of formula II ##STR41## wherein R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 independently represent hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms,
- a radical of formula III ##STR42## where m is a whole number from 2 to 4, a radical of formula IV ##STR43## where n is 1 or 2, or a radical of formula V ##STR44## where P is 1 or 2, and
- R.sub.9 is hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkyl, amino or di(lower alkyl) amino,
- in free base form or in pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt form,
A compound of the formula ##STR45## wherein R' and R" independently represent hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, trifluoromethyl, halogen or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and
- R.sub.2 is alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms,
- a radical of the formula II ##STR46## wherein R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 independently represent hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms,
- a radical of the formula III ##STR47## wherein m is a whole number from 2 to 4, a radical of the formula IV ##STR48## wherein n is 1 or 2, or a radical of the formula V ##STR49## wherein p is 1 or 2, and
- R.sub.9 is hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkyl, amino or di(lower alkyl) amino,
- provided that when R' is alkoxy, R" is other than hydrogen, in free base form or in pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt form.
A compound of the formula ##STR50## wherein R' and R" independently represent hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, trifluoromethyl, halogen or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen
- in free base form or in pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt form.
A compound of formula ##STR51## wherein R' is hydrogen, hydroxy, methoxy, isopropoxy, methyl or trifluoromethyl
- R" is in the 4 position and is hydrogen, methoxy, hydroxy, bromine or n--C.sub.6 H.sub.13.
- R.sub.2 is methyl or isopropyl.
