Abstract
This invention relates to ultraviolet light stable copolymer compositions comprising: (a) a monomer which is an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated dicarboxylic half-ester of a 2-hydroxy, alkoxy, methylolbenzophenone, and, (b) a comonomer which is styrene or styrene-butadiene, is described.
Claims10
An ultraviolet light stable copolymer composition comprising:
- (a) a monomer which is an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid half-ester of a 2-hydroxy, alkoxy, methylolbenzophenone, having the formula:
- ##STR3## where R is alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.8,
- n is 1 or 2, and
- Y is a half-acyl radical derived from maleic or itaconic anhydrides, and,
- (b) a comonomer selected from styrene and styrene-butadiene.
