Abstract
A method for controlling the microorganism in aqueous systems comprising treating such systems with a biocidal amount of a mixture of 75% of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 25% 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one with chlorine or chlorine dioxide.

A method for controlling aqueous systems heavily contaminated with microorganisms comprising treating such systems with 0.5-10 ppm of a mixture of 75% of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 25% 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and an effective amount of chlorine or chlorine dioxide, such amount being substantially effective with said mixture to control microorganisms in the aqueous system.
