Abstract
7-Chloro-3-substituted aryl-3,4-dihydro-1,9-(2H,1OH) and 10-hydroxy-acridinedioneimines and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts and a process for preparing them are disclosed and claimed. The compounds are useful in the treatment of protozoan diseases.
Claims12
A compound having the formula ##STR19## where Y is hydrogen or hydroxy;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine;
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine or trifluoromethyl;
- ##STR20## wherein n=0 to 5;
- R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are hydrogen, alkyl containing one to four carbon atoms, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --OH, ##STR21## allyl, or R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 together are (CH.sub.2).sub.4 to .sub.5, or ##STR22## R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are hydrogen, methyl, or ethyl;
- R.sub.8 is hydrogen or methyl;
- and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
