Abstract
A process for preparing hexamethyleneimine from hexamethylenediamine, which comprises continuously reacting hexamethylenediamine at about 70 to 180.degree. C. in an inert solvent using a nickel catalyst and/or cobalt catalyst while maintaining the concentrations of hexamethyleneimine and hexamethylenediamine in the reaction mixture at 10% by weight or less and 25% by weight or less, respectively, by removing the hexamethyleneimine from the reaction system as soon as the hexamethyleneimine is formed.
Claims12
A process for preparing hexamethyleneimine from hexamethylenediamine, which comprises the steps of continuously reacting hexamethylenediamine in the absence of hydrogen at about 80.degree. to 150.degree. C., 30 mmHg to 8 kg/cm.sup.2 pressure in an inert solvent using a nickel catalyst and/or cobalt catalyst while maintaining the concentrations of hexamethyleneimine and hexamethylenediamine in the reaction mixture at 5% by weight or less and 10% by weight or less, respectively, by removing the hexamethyleneimine from the reaction system as soon as the hexamethyleneimine is formed.
