Abstract
A recording sheet capable of forming a color when brought into contact with an electron donating color former, which is prepared by coating a dispersion comprising (1) a polyvalent metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid, (2) a montmorillonite clay mineral, (3) zinc oxide, and (4) a binder, and which contains about 30 to 60 wt. % solid ingredients and has a viscosity of about 50 to 7,000 cps.
Claims15
A recording sheet capable of forming color when brought into contact with an electron donating color former, which comprises a support having coated thereon a layer prepared from a coating composition comprising a polyvalent metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid, a montmorillonite clay mineral containing about 10 to 20 parts by weight of aluminum per 100 parts by weight of silicon, zinc oxide, and a binder and which contains about 30 to 60 wt% solid ingredients and has a viscosity of about 50 to 7,000 cps.
The recording sheet of claim 12, wherein said latex is a carboxy-modified SBR latex.
In a recording material comprising an electron donating color former and an electron accepting color developer dispersed in one or more layers on one or more supports, the improvement which comprises a color developer layer prepared from a coating composition comprising a polyvalent metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid, montmorillonite clay mineral, zinc oxide and a binder and which contains about 30 to 60 wt% solid ingredients and has a viscosity of about 50 to 7,000 cps.
