Abstract
The novel furoindole compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms, and R.sup.2 is hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl, methoxy or methyl, are useful as analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents.

A furoindole compound of the formula ##STR4## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms, and R.sup.2 is hydrogen, trifluoromethyl, methoxy or methyl.
A furoindole compound of the formula:

A furoindole compound of the formula ##STR6## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, ethyl or isopropyl and R.sup.2 is hydrogen or trifluoromethyl.
