Abstract
N-.alpha.-alkoxyethyl-carboxylic acid amides are prepared by anodic alkoxylation of N-ethyl-carboxylic acid amides with an alcohol in an electrolytic cell using vitreous carbon as anode material and at least one alkali metal and/or tetraalkyl-ammonium alkosulfate as supporting electrolyte.
Claims13
A process for the manufacture of N-.alpha.-alkoxyethylcarboxylic acid amides in an electrolysis solution which comprises alkoxylation of an N-ethyl-carboxylic acid amide with an alcohol in an electrolytic cell equipped with an anode and a cathode in the presence of a supporting electrolyte, using vitreous carbon as anode material and at least one alkali metal, or tetraalklammonium alkosulfate as supporting electrolyte.
