Abstract
A new radioenzymatic assay for catecholamines utilizing the catechol-0-methyl transferase transfer of a methyl group from a labeled methyl donor to the catecholamines followed by isolation of the 0-methylated(.sup.3 H)catecholamine and the subsequent measurement of radioactivity.
Claims4
A method for oxidizing metanephrine or normetanephrine to vanillin which comprises contacting the metanephrine or normetanephrine with periodate in the contact presence of silica gel.
A composition which comprises a catecholamine selected from the group consisting of metanephrine and normetanephrine, silica gel and periodate.
