Microbicidal meta oxy- and thio-substituted phenylanilines

A compound of the formula I, including salts and metal complexes thereof ##STR52## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently of one another are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or halogen,

• R.sub.3 is hydrogen, halogen or methyl, the total number of carbon atoms in R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 not exceeding 6,
• R.sub.4 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxycarbonyl;
• or R.sub.4 is C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkenyl;
• C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkynyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen;
• or it is C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 -cycloalkyl;
• or phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkoxy, nitro or trifluoromethyl;
• or R.sub.4 is benzyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl or nitro,
• X is oxygen or sulfur,
• R.sub.5 is 2-furyl or 2-tetrahydrofuryl each of which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen;
• or R.sub.5 is the group CH.sub.2 Z, where Z is one of the groups
• (a) --OR.sub.6,
• (b) --SR.sub.6,
• (c) NH--N(R.sub.7)(R.sub.8),
• (d) --OSO.sub.2 R.sub.9, or
• (e) 1,2-pyrazole, 1,2,4-triazole or 1,3-imidazole,
• wherein
• R.sub.6 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkenyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkynyl,
• R.sub.7 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl,
• R.sub.8 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl, or phenyl which is unsubstituted or is substituted by halogen or methyl, and
• R.sub.9 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or mono- or di-(C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)-alkyl-amino, and
• Y is ##STR53## wherein R.sub.10 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl which is unsubstituted or is substituted by halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxy;
• or R.sub.10 is C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 -alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkynyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 -cycloalkyl, and
• R.sub.11 is hydrogen or methyl.
