Abstract
A high density specialty fuel for propelling limited volume ramjet and turbojet missile systems comprising a blend of at least 70 weight percent of exotetrahydrodicyclopentadiene and a correspondingly minor amount of a combination of a C.sub.5 -C.sub.7 alkane or cycloalkane and a tetrahydro derivative of the trimer and/or co-trimer of cyclopentadiene and methylcyclopentadiene.
Claims6
A high density fuel composition consisting essentially of (a) from 70-95 weight percent of exo-tetrahydro dicyclopentadiene;
- (b) from 4-25 weight percent of the tetrahydro derivative of an oligomer selected from the group consisting of a co-trimer of cyclopentadiene and methylcyclopentadiene, a trimer of cyclopentadiene, a trimer of methylcyclopentadiene, and mixtures thereof;
- and (c) from 1-7 weight percent of a C.sub.5 -C.sub.7 alkane, cycloalkane or mixtures thereof.
