Abstract
A method of preparing zeolite ZSM-5 type crystals and mixtures thereof which comprises crystallizing the substantially pure zeolite material from a silica and, optionally, alumina gel mixture in the presence of an alkylammonium-N-oxide cation, and the products produced thereby.

A method for preparing a synthetic crystalline zeolite material having a constraint index between 1 and 12 and and a SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 ratio greater than 15 which comprises preparing a reaction mixture containing a source of an alkali metal oxide, an oxide of silicon, an oxide of aluminum, RNO, and water, and having a composition, in terms of mole ratios of oxides, falling within the following ranges:
- SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 =5 to .infin.
- H.sub.2 O/SiO.sub.2 =5 to 200
- OH.sup.- /SiO.sub.2 =0 to 1.0
- M/SiO.sub.2 =0.01 to 3.0
- RNO/SiO.sub.2 =0.01 to 2.0
- wherein M is an alkali or alkaline earth metal and RNO 1-alkyl, 4-aza, 1-azonia-bicyclo(2,2,2)octane, 4-oxide, halide and maintaining said mixture under crystallization conditions until crystals of said zeolite are formed.
