Abstract
A catalyst consisting of (a) a cobalt compound, (b) an aluminium organic compound, (c) water and (d) a phosphite, characterized in that the phosphite is a compound corresponding to the formula (1): ##STR1## in which R represents a C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 alkyl radical, and R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl radical. Said catalyst can be used for polymerizing butadiene.

A catalyst consisting of (a) a cobalt compound, (b) an aluminium organic compound, (c) water and (d) a phosphite, characterised in that the phosphite is a compound corresponding to the formula (1):
- ##STR3## in which R represents a C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 alkyl radical, and
- R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl radical.
