Abstract
Alkylated glyoxal/cyclic urea condensates are excellent formaldehyde-free crosslinking resins for textile fabrics.

A reactant for imparting permanent press properties to a textile containing cellulose fibers which comprises the alkylated product of the reaction of approximately stoichiometric amounts of glyoxal and at least one cyclic urea.
