Abstract
1-Difluoromethyl-6,7-methylenedioxy-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid and certain of its alkylaminoalkyl esters, useful in treating bacterial infections in mammals.
Claims3
A process for preparing a compound of the formula:
- ##STR5## ,wherein X=--OCH.sub.3, --OCH.sub.2 H.sub.5, --OC.sub.3 H.sub.7 or --Cl, which comprises contacting a compound of the formula:
- ##STR6## where R.sub.3 =CH.sub.3, C.sub.2 H.sub.5, or C.sub.3 H.sub.7 ;
- with the radical :CF.sub.2 in an aprotic solvent;
- then optionally hydrolyzing in dilute acid and contacting with PCl.sub.5.
