Preparation and use of glucose isomerase

A biologically pure culture of a mutant strain of the microorganism Flavobacterium arborescens having the identifying characteristics of Flavobacterium arborescens ATCC 4358, said strain being capable of producing substantial quantities of glucose isomerase activity when cultivated in a nutrient medium containing sources of carbon, nitrogen and inorganic salts with lactose as the sole carbon source.
