Abstract
The invention concerns novel pesticidal esters of the pyrethrin or pyrethroid type in which the methylene group bonded to the ester carbonyl and/or ester oxygen bears a fluorine substituent. The compounds of the invention are active against insect pests including flies, moths, aphids and beetles and acarina pests including ticks.

An ester of the formula ##STR143## wherein:
- A is the group ##STR144## wherein:
- Y is the group R.sup.15 R.sup.16 C.dbd.CR.sup.14 in which R.sup.14 is chosen from hydrogen and C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, R.sup.15 is chosen from hydrogen, halogen and C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl optionally substituted with halogen and R.sup.16 is chosen from hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl optionally substituted with halogen and C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 -(alkoxy)carbonyl, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently chosen from C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl and R.sup.3 is hydrogen;
- and B is the group ##STR145## wherein:
- Q is chosen from ##STR146## R.sup.39 is chosen from halogen and the group R.sup.50 R.sup.51 C.dbd.C(R.sup.49)O-- in which R.sup.49 is chosen from hydrogen and C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl and R.sup.50 and R.sup.51 are independently chosen from hydrogen, halogen and C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl optionally substituted with halogen, R.sup.40, R.sup.41, R.sup.42, R.sup.43 and R.sup.44 are independently chosen from hydrogen, C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, halogen and C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 alkenyl and J is oxygen;
- T is chosen from hydrogen, halogen, cyano, C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl optionally substituted with halogen, C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 alkenyl and C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 alkynyl;
- and X is fluorine.
