Spinneret cleaning device

A portable device for cleaning operating spinnerets for molten synthetic polymers in a spinning housing comprising:

• at least one cleaning blade movable in a plane parallel to the face of the spinneret, said blade being fixedly attached to a base plate;
• a rotatable shaft and rotation means therefore;
• pin means eccentrically located on one end of the shaft for movably attaching the base plate thereto;
• a stop plate having means for aligning the device relative to said spinneret housing;
• means for positioning said shaft relative to said stop plate and constraining shaft movement of the shaft substantially toward the spinneret face, the movement in said pin means being sufficient to allow said cleaning blade to conform to said spinneret face and compensate for the difference in alignment between the spinneret housing and face.
