Abstract
Cationic azo dyestuffs of the formula ##STR1## wherein D denotes the radical of an azo dyestuff which is free of sulphonic acid groups, R denotes an alkylene radical, R.sub.1 denotes hydrogen or alkyl, R.sub.2 denotes alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl, R.sub.3 denotes alkyl and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, can together form the radical of a heterocyclic ring, R.sub.4 denotes hydroxyalkyl with 3 or more C atoms or arylhydroxyethyl and An.sup.(-) denotes an anion, are used for dyeing and printing of polymers and copolymers of acrylonitrile, acid modified polyesters or polyamides, leather, tanned cotton, polyurethanes and lignin containing fibres and for coloring writing liquids.

Cationic azo dyestuff of the formula ##STR117## wherein A is ##STR118## in which R.sub.13 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, phenyl, cyano, nitro or carbomethoxy,
- R.sub.14 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, phenoxy, nitro, carbomethoxy, chloro, or bromo;
- R.sub.15 is hydrogen;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy;
- phenoxy;
- cyclohexyl;
- phenyl;
- phenyl substituted by methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, nitro, chlorine or acetylamino;
- benzyl;
- methylmercapto;
- ethylmercapto;
- phenylmercapto;
- benzylmercapto;
- dimethylamino;
- diethylamino;
- methylsulphonyl;
- ethylsulphonyl;
- or phenylsulphonyl;
- and
- q is 0, 1 or 2;
- and wherein
- R.sub.6 is methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl;
- R.sub.7 is methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl;
- R.sub.8 is methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl;
- R.sub.9 is 2-hydroxypropyl, 2-hydroxybutyl, 2-hydroxyethylphenyl, 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-propyl, 2-hydroxy-3-chloropropyl, 2-hydroxy-3-ethoxy-propyl, 2-hydroxy-3-propoxy-propyl, 2-hydroxy-3-allyloxy-propyl, 2-hydroxy-3-butoxy-propyl, 2-hydroxy-3-phenoxy-propyl or 2-hydroxy-3-benzoyl-propyl;
- R.sub.10 is hydrogen;
- methyl;
- ethyl;
- propyl;
- butyl;
- chloro;
- bromo;
- methoxy;
- ethoxy;
- propoxy;
- acetylamino;
- propionylamino;
- or methylsulphonylamino;
- R.sub.11 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, chloro, bromo, methoxy, ethoxy or propoxy;
