Abstract
A compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is an alkyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same or different and each is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and optical isomers thereof; methods and intermediates for the preparation of the compounds; pharmaceutical preparations containing them and their medical use for the treatment of psychoses.

A compound of the formula ##STR10## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in which formula R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same or different and each represents a hydrogen, chlorine or bromine atom.
A pharmaceutical preparation which comprises as active ingredient at least one compound of the formula ##STR11## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in an amount effective to block the central dopamine receptors of the brain in which formula R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same or different and each represents a hydrogen, chlorine or bromine atom, in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A method for the treatment of psychoses in man, characterized by the administration to a host in need of such treatment of an effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR12## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in which formula R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same or different and each represents a hydrogen, chlorine or bromine atom.
