Abstract
N-(Heterocyclicaminocarbonyl)arylsulfonamides, such as N-[(4-methoxy-6-methylamino-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl) aminocarbonyl]benzenesulfonamide, are useful for the regulation of plant growth and as herbicides, particularly for controlling volunteer corn in soybeans.
Claims12
A compound selected from ##STR66## where R.sub.1 is ##STR67## R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, methoxy, nitro or trifluoromethyl;
- W is oxygen or sulfur;
- X is -NHCH.sub.3 or -N(CH.sub.3).sub.2 ;
- Z is methyl or methoxy;
- and
- A is ##STR68## or N and their agriculturally suitable salts provided that when R.sub.2 is nitro or trifluoromethyl, R.sub.3 can not be nitro or trifluoromethyl and when A is N, then R.sub.1 is ##STR69##
