Abstract
Derivatives of 3-phenyl-4-aroyl-1,2-dihydronaphthalenes and 1-aroyl-2-phenylnaphthalenes are useful both as antifertility agents and in suppressing the growth of mammary tumors.
Claims23
A compound of the formula ##STR19## in which X is --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 -- or --CH.dbd.CH--;
- R is hydrogen, hydroxyl, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, hydroxyl, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy;
- and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 taken together with the nitrogen to which they are bonded constitute a heterocyclic ring selected from the group consisting of pyrrolidino, piperidino, and hexamethyleneimino;
- and pharmaceutically acceptable non-toxic acid addition salts thereof.
