Abstract
There is provided a process for the preparation of a diphosphoramidate involving the reaction of a chlorophosphate with an alkali metal thiocyanate or ammonium thiocyanate in a water-immiscible solvent to form a cyanatidate, which is then reacted with an aqueous mixture of a phenylenediamine to yield said diphosphoramidate.
Claims5
A method for the preparation of a phosphoroamidate having the formula:
- ##STR10## wherein R is alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 and R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4, halogen or alkoxy C.sub.1 -C.sub.4, comprising:
- reacting a chlorophosphate of the formula:
- ##STR11## where R is alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4, with approximately an equimolar amount of an alkali metal thiocyanate or ammonium thiocyanate in the presence of a water-immiscible solvent, at a temperature between about 0.degree. and 35.degree. C., to form a cyanatidate of the formula:
- ##STR12## wherein R is alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4, and further reacting at a temperature ranging from about 20.degree. C. to about 40.degree. C. said cyanatidate with an aqueous mixture comprising approximately an equimolar amount of a phenylenediamine of the formula:
- ##STR13## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4, halogen or alkoxy C.sub.1 -C.sub.4, whereby the desired phosphoroamidate is formed in good yield and purity.
