Abstract
Penicillanic acid derivatives which have an excellent antibacterial action particularly against bacteria belonging to family Pseudomonas aeruginosa and are represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 and n are as defined above, and salts thereof; and a process for preparing the same are disclosed.
Claims19
A compound represented by the formula ##STR19## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group;
- R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group;
- R.sub.3 is a hydroxyl group or a lower alkanoyloxyl group;
- n is 2 or 3;
- at least two of R.sub.3 are bonded to adjacent carbon atoms, the position of substituent R.sub.3 being selected from 3 to 5 position when R.sub.1 is a lower alkyl group and R.sub.3 is a hydroxyl group, and 2 to 6 position when R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 are other substituents, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
