Abstract
This invention relates to aliphatic phosphorous containing compounds which are useful as herbicides. Additionally, they demonstrate tolerance towards desired, crops, e.g. wheat and rice.
Claims10
A compound of the formula ##STR238## wherein R is alkoxy of 1-6 carbons, alkoxy of 2-3 carbons substituted with alkoxy of 1-3 carbons, or --NR.sub.3 R.sub.4 wherein
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1-4 carbons, cycloalkyl of 5-6 carbons, or ##STR239## where V is H, F, Cl, NO.sub.2
- T is H, F, Cl, Br, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl, CF.sub.3
- M is H, Cl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, CF.sub.3 provided M and T are not simultaneously CF.sub.3 ;
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen, or alkyl of 1-4 carbons or methoxy provided that when R.sub.4 is methoxy then R.sub.3 is hydrogen or methyl;
- R.sub.1 is alkoxy of 1-6 carbons, C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkoxy substituted with an alkoxy of 1-3 carbons or NR.sub.3 R.sub.4 ;
- X is oxygen;
- and
- R.sub.2 is 1-methylethyl or 1-methylpropyl;
- provided that
- (1) When R and R.sub.1 are both 1-methylethoxy and X is oxygen, R.sub.2 must not be 1-methylethyl;
- (2) When R and R.sub.1 are both methoxy or ethoxy and X is oxygen, R.sub.2 must not be 1-methylethyl;
- (3) When R and R.sub.1 are both 1-methylpropoxy and X is oxygen, R.sub.2 must not be 1-methylpropyl;
- and
- (4) When R.sub.2 is 1-methylethyl and one of R or R.sub.1 is n-propyloxy then the other of R or R.sub.1 cannot be n-butyloxy.
