Abstract
Flame retardant rubber-modified polyphenylene-ether resins compositions having improved thermal stability are prepared by using a 2,5,5-trisubstituted 1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinane-2-oxide of the formula: ##STR1##
Claims10
A flame-retardant, polyphenylene-ether resin/rubber-modified, high-impact polystyrene thermoplastic composition comprising an effective flame-retarding amount of a 2,5,5-trisubstituted-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinane-2-oxide compound represented by the formula:
- ##STR16## wherein R and R' are methyl or ethyl, and R" is selected from alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms, phenyl, phenyl having 1-3 methyl groups, benzyl, and benzyl having 1-3 methyl groups.
The compound 2,4,6-trimethylbenzyl neopentylene phosphonate.
