Abstract
Processes and compositions are described for the use as detergent aroma imparting, augmenting or enhancing materials of 3-hydroxy-1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-1,3-cyclohexadien-1-yl)-1-butanone having the structure: ##STR1## and perfume compositions containing same.

A process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma of a solid or liquid detergent which consists essentially of adding thereto from 0.005% up to 3.0% by weight of said detergent of 3-hydroxy-1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-1,3-cyclohexadien-1-yl)-1-butanone having the structure:
