Claims4
A method for eliminating and/or inhibiting bud growth on coffee or tobacco plants comprising, applying to the foliage of said plants or to soil in which they are growing, a bud growth inhibiting amount of a compound having the formula:
- ##STR22## wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 ;
- R.sub.2 is alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.6, cycloalkyl C.sub.3 -C.sub.6, alkenyl C.sub.2 -C.sub.4, or when R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are taken together with the carbon to which they are attached they may represent cycloalkyl C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 optionally substituted with methyl;
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen, alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.12, alkenyl C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 optionally substituted with one halogen substituent or one or two methyl substituents, benzyl, cyclohexenylmethyl, pentadienyl, or a salt-forming cation selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, ammonium and aliphatic ammonium;
- and the acid addition salts thereof.
