A compound of the formula I ##STR1## in which R.sub.2 is an optionally substituted 4-piperidinyl bonded via oxy or imino, or an optionally substituted 2-(piperidino)-ethoxy, n is 1 or 2, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are hydrocarbon radicals, R.sub.9 is hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.14 is cyano, --CH.sub.2 OH, a hydroxymethyl which is C-substituted by an optionally substituted 4-piperidinyl bonded via oxy or imino, or by an optionally substituted 2-(piperidino)-ethoxy, or R.sub.14 is also acyl or nitro, and, when n=1, R.sub.15 is hydrogen, a substituted hydroxybenzyl, an optionally substituted hydrocarbon radical, an optionally substituted 4-piperidinyl, or alkylene which is optionally linked to R.sub.14 and optionally substituted, or, when n=2, R.sub.15 is a direct bond or an optionally interrupted hydrocarbon radical, and its salts as stabilizers for organic material.
A member selected from the group consisting of (A) a compound of the formula ##STR15## in which R.sub.2 represents ##STR16## R.sub.1 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 independently represent C.sub.1 -C.sub.9 -alkyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.9 -aralkyl or C.sub.5 -C.sub.8 -cycloalkyl, R.sub.9 is hydrogen or methyl, X represents (1) hydrogen, (2) C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, (3) allyl, (4) propargyl, (5) C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkoxyalkyl, (6) acetyl, (7) acryloyl, (8)crotonoyl, (9) --CH.sub.2 --COOR.sub.10 where R.sub.10 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, (10) --CH.sub.2 --CH(R.sub.11)--OH where R.sub.11 is H or methyl or (11) --COOR.sub.13 where R.sub.13 is C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl, R.sub.14 is cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, or C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl sulphonyl, R.sub.15 is (1) hydrogen, (2) 4--OH-3,5-di C.sub.1 to C.sub. 4 alkyl benzyl, (3) C.sub.1 to C.sub.12 alkyl, (4) C.sub.3 to C.sub.4 alkenyl, (5) propargyl, (6) benzyl, (7) phenyl, (8) a group of the formula ##STR17## wherein R.sub.1 and X are as previously defined, or (9) a group of the formula ##STR18## wherein R.sub.1 and X are as previously defined and R.sub.22 and R.sub.23 are H or methyl, and (B) an acid addition salt thereof with an organic or inorganic acid.
